Episode 50 (Pending): Texas 13th Congressional District - Representative Ronny Jackson-Candidate 2026

Greeting, Deep Divers! This is Tonya, and I wanted to make sure you are aware that this episode is NOT YET READY -- and it might note even happen -- but we are hopeful, so we are adding it to our queue.
As you may know, we recently posted an episode where we interviewed ONE of the two candidates for the 13th Congressional District of Texas: Mark Nair. Our goal was always to interview BOTH candidates, and we are still hopeful that we might get a chance to speak with the incumbent, Representative Ronny Jackson. Hence, this post (which includes NO AUDIO) -- so that we are ready to post any conversation we are able to have quickly (and before early voting begins on 10/19).
Remember: the League of Women Voters has a 106-year commitment to non-partisan voting advocacy in the United States. We educate voters on how to register, where to vote, who is on their ballot, and facts about public policy that is being discussed, supported, or challenged in the voting cycle. We believe that educated voters are the bedrock of our democracy!
It's our hope that we might receive a recorded response from Rep. Jackson, as we know he is quite busy in these final days before the election. The invitation will remain open until 10/18 -- the final day before early voting begins; this will give us only one day to produce and post, but we will gladly do so if indeed it allows us to share the expanded thoughts on his candidacy as Mark Nair did.

Hello Evelyn,
There is still an opportunity for an episode of Lone Star Deep Dive for Representative Jackson. If you have a recording of a recent speech where Representative Jackson talks about his accomplishments and plans for his next term, I will run it as an episode. Another option is to record Representative Jackson answering the questions asked of him for the Amarillo League of Women Voters, Voters Guide. This would give him an opportunity to elaborate on the answers.
I would need this within a week for the episode to be relevant for the November 3rd election and you can email the recording, making this super easy.
